i still haven't found a post office...

this weekend was such a whirlwind i can't even remember it!

it's quite chilly out right now and perfect sleeping weather! it's "rainy season" now, from the end of sept. to the end of oct. so it will probably be cooler.

this week marks the start of the fiesta de merce, of saint mercedes. it's the "biggest, wildest, most colorful fiesta" in barcelona. i'm stoked! i was asking around where i need to be and where all the big things are happening and i was told to just go outside and you will be in the party. thursday is the big day where many of the events are happening and no work for anyone. it's just a big party in the street with lights, music, dancing, sangria, food, people, all day and all night. downtown they have tons of shows, concerts, fireworks on the beach, (which i am told will "blow your american fireworks out of the water") human towers where 50 people at a time climb on top of eachother and make things, parades, etc etc etc... i can't wait!

today i went to the picasso museum because i found out it's free after 3pm on sundays, so i figured it was a must. it was very interesting but not as big as i thought it would be. but all of his paintings had a story next to it so it was really cool. the area that the museum is in is the gothic area and it was soooo cool. i am just amazed with everything. but every building is different and everything was so ornate and almost creepy looking. i actually got my roommate to go out with me and i was very excited because it's getting old going to see all these places by myself =( i really hope when school starts i meet tons of kids!

we also saw this huge cathedral built by gaudi and i cannot get over this man, he is basically my hero. i'm obsessed with everything i see by him. we went inside and there was a service going on and the place is so big they have seating all the way back and tons of tvs so that you can see the priest and everything going on up front. they look so out of place! but the designs on the inside were out of this world! there's this place called palau de la musica and it is so detailed and has a million different colors and shapes and designs and i am just awestruck by it. the inside looks even cooler from pictures but i didn't get to go in because i think it might be closed on sundays. or we just couldn't find the entrance! it was so hidden though it was weird. and on a very narrow street so it was hard to get pictures of the outside.
