this is why i moved here!

i just got back from a looooong day of walking. i went out with my roommate rita and we explored a lot of the city - exhausting!!

we first went to parc guell, which turns out, it's not even a ten minute walk from our apartment. it is so gigantic and so awesome i can't even describe it. you guys are going to have to see for yourselves!

you go uphill for a lot of it and you look out at the views and think how amazing but then you continue up and the views just get better and better. and you look out one way and it's the med. sea and then the other side you can see mountains. and towards the sea sagrada familia is so monstrous it sticks out from everything. and then on the other side there's a mountain with a huge church or palace on it that looks similar to the structure of the sagrada familia. all throughout the park there are people selling cool jewelery and dancing and playing music. it was like a festival. we were like little girls in disney world except it was even better!

we also went to sagrada familia which is by gaudi also, and it is super super big and still under construction. it was amazing of course. we didn't go in though, we figured we'd come back another day and do the tour.

so after that we got some gelado, dulce de leche, the best! and walked around the area and then we found part of downtown which is the "high-end shopping" with every designer name you can think of. but it's cool cause they're all on the street. and the streets were packed with people it was crazy, but i love that!

that all took the entire day and now i am so tired just sitting in my bed looking at the pictures. i wanted to get a hold of my friends from class to see if they want to go out tonight but i don't even know if i can make it! we all became facebook friends so we can keep in touch =)

i'm just glad i had someone to go with me today because it was much more fun with a partner in crime..
